World Youth Day 2011 Madrid Spain

Have you heard about this awesome trip that will take place in August of 2011?  Or, have you heard about a gathering of an estimated 2 million Catholics at an airfield camping overnight to celebrate mass with the Pope?  If you have heard about these things, then you know I am talking about World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid Spain! If you have not heard about this trip, then I encourage you to check out http://www.madridwyd2011.com to see what this event is about.

The Diocese of Raleigh is taking a group of pilgrims along with Bishop Burbidge from North Carolina to Madrid with a little stop off in Lourdes Fatima.  The good news?  There is still space for you to go!

The cost for this trip is $3,250.00 and includes pretty much everything (please see brochure for complete details).  I know this is a lot of money, but the experience will be unmatched by any other event in your life.

If you are not sold on this trip yet, I encourage you to make the trip with me this coming week to Madrid.  Ok, so you all will not fit on my carry-on, but I will be blogging and posting videos and pictures every day documenting everything from the airports, planes, hotels, and the sights and sounds of Madrid. Check back daily starting on April 14 for updates on this trip.  My trip is April 14-18 which is much shorter than the actual World Youth Day trip, but it will give you a taste of what you will experience when you make the trip yourselves!

If these experiences awaken a desire in your heart to attend World Youth Day, please contact the Office of Youth ministry (919-821-9770 or patrick.diener@raldioc.org).  We will do everything in our power to get you on this trip and make sure you can afford it!

I will be talking to you all soon. The first stop, RDU!
